To ensure that the educational community develops a sustainable technology integration model that can support active teaching and learning within 1:web environment.
Gain perspective of the district’s technology initiative and WHY it matters.
Build a strong vision for the technology initiative, including all stakeholders.
Identify and discuss what technology is right for your district, how to build culture in the process, and how to create policies and procedures that complement your vision.
A critical component to the technology adoption process is to have a clear understanding of your WHY. This ThinkTank Session will encourage representatives of the educational community to explore the WHY behind technology. Feedback from this ThinkTank group will provide a clear roadmap for the district to drive sustained improvements in student achievement while providing support to all schools and employees.
Before districts look at deploying technology, they must know their WHY. If districts are deploying technology for the sake of technology, education will not improve. iSchool Initiative has seen that the biggest struggle for districts to find success with technology is not the financials and not always their infrastructure, but instead it’s the vision and culture. We partner with district leaders and a select group of stakeholders to ensure that the educational community develops a sustainable technology integration model that can support active teaching and learning with mobile devices.
The ThinkTank is organized into two parts: Morning Session and an Afternoon Session. The morning session will be customized to challenge participants’ way of thinking and determine the “why” behind integrating technology.
The afternoon session will be customized to foster the culture for sustaining technology by exploring the policies and procedures for all stakeholders.
Audience: To ensure that all voices are represented, we encourage a diverse group of stakeholders attend the session. Superintendents, Instructional and technology leaders, Principals, Vice Principals, Instructional Coaches, Board Members, Central Office Staff, and a select group of Students
Recommended Size: Up-to 30 participants
Morning Session: 8:00 - 11:30 AM
Networking Lunch Session: 11:30 - Noon
Afternoon Session: Noon - 3:30 PM

My "aha" moment was with the order of presenting information to my stakeholders. I need to first discuss WHY, then HOW, followed by WHAT. Typically, it is discussed in reverse order. When Travis shared this tip, it made so much sense.
